Cooking Time
15 mins
Ingredients
Sprouted Mixed Millet flour: 1 cup
Sprouted Chickpea Flour (optional): 1 tsp
Jaggery powder/sugar: 3/4cup
Ghee (melted): 3/4 cup
Water: 2 cup
Cardamom powder: 1/2 tsp
Almond and pistachio slivers for garnish
How to Make It
Dry roast the flour/s in a skillet on low flame for 5 minutes.
Keep stirring in between to prevent over roasting or burning of flour.
After about 5 minutes- the flour should start emitting a nice aroma. Turn off the flame at this point.
Tip the flour into a clean plate or bowl and wipe clean the skillet with a paper towel.
Heat ghee in the same skillet and add the roasted millet flour.
Cook for a few minutes on low to medium flame till the flour changes colour and becomes darker(around 4 to 5 minutes)
Slowly add water to the mixture.
Mix thoroughly and cook for a couple of minutes till the water gets absorbed nicely.
Add in the jaggery/sugar and cook for another minute or two till the ghee separates and halwa leaves the sides of pan.
Mix in the cardamom powder.
Garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.
Serve warm.
